Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a consultation cost?

Our consultation fee is $120. Should you decide to hire us to assist you with your case, the $120 are credited towards your retainer down payment.

For my consultation will I be able to see an attorney or legal assistant?

All consultations are directly with an attorney specializing in immigration law.

Are you open Saturdays?

We are open on one Saturday each month. Be sure to call ahead of time to schedule an appointment as we are not always able to accommodate walk ins.

What languages are spoken at the office?

We do consultations in English, French and Spanish.

What areas do you provide service to?

Because immigration law is Federal law, it applies the same throughout the United States. Therefore we serve clients all over the U.S. and all over the world.

How long does it take to get a green card?

This depends on the category of permanent residency you are applying for.  Depending on which country you are from, most marriage and employment-based green card applications can be completed within a year.  However, there are many instances where the green card process can take from 7-20+ years.

How much does it cost to get a green card?

The USCIS currently charges $1760 in processing fees for most family-based applications for green cards inside the US.  It is more expensive when applying through an employment-based petition and cheaper if you are consular processing rather than applying inside the US. Attorney fees will vary depending on the complexity of the case.

How can I become a US citizen?

To naturalize your status as a US citizen, you must first be a lawful permanent resident for 3-5 years, depending on whether your spouse is a US citizen.  In some cases, where you have a parent who is a US citizen, you may already be a US citizen even though you were born abroad, and even though you do not have lawful permanent resident status.
